Job Summary
We are seeking a Clinical Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the day to day management of patient care activities and supervision of clinical employees. You will serve as the privacy officer, which relates to the privacy and access of patient health information. The clinical manager will ensure compliance with the latest Hospice regulations.
KeyResponsibilities
- Manages the delivery of patient services and compliance with agency policy utilizing efficient organizational and planning skills
- Manages the daily schedule utilizing efficient organizational and planning skills
- Provides both management and clinical leadership to the employees
- Assigns case management activities to staff
- Communicates effectively with staff, other professionals, families and the public and is able to convey patience, tact, and a positive attitude when dealing with others. Functions as an effective patient and family advocate.
- Conveys and receives comprehensive on-call reports
- Utilizes appropriate screening procedures for all hospice inquiries/records in designated record.
- Directs inappropriate patients to other community resources and document all actions
- Maintains current comprehensive documentation on all forms and records as required by agency policy. Reviews database information for accuracy and thoroughness
- Participates in the timely closure of completed charts
- Adheres to all written policies
- Actively leads weekly interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings
- Participates in program development and planning
- Plans and implements specific clinical and administrative projects, coordinating with agency plans
- Monitors and ensures agency compliance with State, Federal and Accrediting agencies
- Provides guidance in communication, coordination and effective operations through development of systems and processes
- Provides both management and clinical leadership to the employees
- Provides clinical assistance to the employees with emergency backup services and situation assessments. Clarifies technical procedures and uses sound judgment and resourcefulness in decision-making
- Maintains agency stability on a daily basis. Shows ability to handle crisis and stress in a constructive manner
- Serves as the designated contact person in Badger Hospice, LLC Notice of Privacy Practices
- Ensures quarterly record reviews are performed for accuracy and timeliness
- Oversees the maintenance of medical records, assuring accuracy and compliance with state, federal, and accrediting agencies
- Assists in the recruitment, screening, and interviewing process of new employees and assists in the orientation of new employees
- Assures the planning and implementation of the education programs and ensures all employees, volunteers, and business associates receive adequate education and training
- Participates in overall departmental cost effectiveness
- Complies with accepted professional standards and principles
- Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and is able to set professional objectives and goals
- Assumes the responsibilities of the CEO in her absence
- Participates in administrative on-call as scheduled
- Participates in agency outreach programs, educational symposia, workshops, and courses
- Active participation in Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Program
- Ensures compliance with the organization’s safety program
- Monitors and maintains patient care supplies
- Assists the CEO in overseeing monitoring of all nursing documentation for accuracy and timeliness
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as delegated
- A registered healthcare provider with current licensure to practice professionally in Wisconsin. Can be a Physician Assistant, an Advanced Practice Nurse, or a RN. If a PA is in the position, a RN Educator and Staff Developer will be employed.
- Graduate of an accredited requisite healthcare school with the appropriate degree.
- Previous experience in hospice/home care setting preferred and with two (2) years management or supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to work within an interdisciplinary setting.
