Job Description & How to Apply Below
Equiton is seeking a detail‑oriented and accountable  Senior Fund Accountant  to take ownership of select investment funds within our growing platform. This is a high‑impact role that sits at the center of fund operations, working closely with Investment Advisors, Corporate Accounting, Investor Services, transfer agents, and external auditors.

You will act as the primary point of contact for assigned funds, overseeing capital activity, monthly distributions, redemptions, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

This role offers meaningful exposure to fund operations, tax reporting, and cross‑functional collaboration — with continued opportunity for growth as we expand our platform, including into the U.S.

If you are looking to step into greater ownership within fund accounting while working in a collaborative, high‑performing environment, this could be the right next move.

Key Responsibilities
Fund Ownership & Operations

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned open‑ended and development funds

Track incoming capital, validate documentation, record accounting entries (debits/credits), and issue investor units

Manage monthly distributions (cash and DRIP) and redemption requests in coordination with Investor Services and external platforms (e.g., transfer agents)

Lead coordination with external administrators for retail and registered offerings

Reconciliations & Controls

Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, investor units, custodial balances, and internal records

Ensure accuracy of positions and unit holdings across all platforms

Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Support treasury activities including weekly treasury directions and journal entries

Reporting, Compliance & Audit

Support preparation of internal and external fund reporting materials

Assist with fund compliance requirements for banking partners, advisors, and investors

Act as a key contact during year‑end audits and internal control reviews

Support return calculations and assist in explaining financial and tax impacts where required

Process Improvement & Collaboration

Identify opportunities to streamline fund processes and strengthen internal controls

Organize and lead coordination calls with external partners as needed

Work cross‑functionally with Corporate Accounting, Investment teams, and Advisors to meet reporting deadlines

What You Bring

3+ years of fund accounting experience (real estate or series‑based structures considered an asset)

Strong understanding of capital activity, distributions, redemptions, and reconciliations

Solid accounting foundation (comfortable with debits/credits and journal entries)

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets)

High attention to detail and strong sense of accountability

Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong communication skills; comfortable interacting with advisors and external administrators

CPA designation (or working toward) preferred
