Role Summary
We’re looking for a Deployment Lead who thrives at the intersection of engineering, field operations, and project execution. This is a hands-on, field-forward role ideal for someone with strong intuition for infrastructure deployment. You’ll manage the real-world execution of energy systems, from test labs to full-scale site installations, and own scaling up from initial discrete deployments to a full-scale BESS Deployment Program.
What You’ll Do
- Lead deployment operations across multiple test and field sites, coordinating site readiness, installation, and commissioning.
- Work closely with electrical engineers and the product team to ensure designs are field-feasible and support long-term serviceability.
- Drive construction and facilities project management—including infrastructure buildouts, power systems, and Grid Scale BESS assemblies.
- Serve as the link between internal engineering and external contractors, managing schedules, deliverables, and field performance.
- Develop and own a comprehensive deployment playbook for new products and field rollouts.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in testing, commissioning, and validation at labs and live sites—often working in a technical capacity.
- Partner with EPCs (Engineering, Procurement & Construction firms) and general contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Contribute to service and maintenance planning for long-term operational success.
- Perform basic electrical calculations (e.g., current flow, voltage drop) and ensure safe and efficient electrical infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For
Top Technical Qualifications:
- Experience in construction project management and infrastructure deployment.
- Familiarity with fleet operations , facilities project management , and site coordination.
- Deep understanding of working with EPCs and large contractors on complex construction projects.
- Strong hands-on electrical experience—background as an electrician, electrical technician, or test engineer preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, calculate electrical loads, and interface with electrical design and field engineers.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and stay on-site for extended periods as needed.
Additional Skills:
- Experience in field deployment or operations roles supporting hardware rollouts or energy systems.
- Comfortable managing moving parts across 3+ concurrent projects in dynamic, resource-constrained environments.
- Strong lateral leadership—able to pull in and coordinate cross-functional support without formal authority.
- Familiarity with mechanical or structural field designs—e.g., BESS structural interconnection, site layout.
- Proficiency in developing operational processes, maintenance plans, and deployment playbooks.
- A bias for execution, troubleshooting, and iterating with minimal oversight.
