Groundskeeper - Shannon Creek s - Burleson, TX

Position Overview

Valiant Residential is seeking a Porter/Groundskeeper responsible for daily maintenance and care of landscaping tools and equipment, and for keeping the exterior and common areas of the property clean on a daily basis. The Porter/Groundskeeper also assists with cleaning make‑ready units and supports the maintenance team as needed.

• Ensure the appearance of all property areas meets or exceeds Valiant Residential’s standards at all times.
• Assist with community functions and support team operations.
• Pick up litter, sweep/blow breezeways, clean areas around dumpsters, and clean out vacant apartments.
• Maintain pool areas, laundry room, and assist with pool maintenance.
• Water plants, maintain the sprinkler system, and apply insecticides, fertilizers, and herbicides as needed.
• Mow and trim lawns, reseed lawns, and replant when necessary.
• Properly stake trees, prune trees and shrubs, and weedy lawn areas.
• Make drainage corrections and replace breezeway light bulbs.
• Assist with distributing notices, make‑readies, and other maintenance work as directed.

• Minimum one year of full‑time related experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Willingness to perform all required tasks and demonstrate work safety habits.
• Ability to represent the company professionally and maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Availability for on‑call work, extended hours, after‑hours and weekends.
• Attention to detail, ability to organize and prioritize work, and self‑motivation to work independently and on a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Must be able to sit, stand, climb, stoop, and remain at a desk for a period of up to 8 hours or more if needed.
• Must be able to walk the property for a period of up to 8 hours (or more) in various weather conditions.
• Must have the ability to climb stairs for purposes of showing properties to prospective tenants.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. as needed.
