Position Summary
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Tourto Teach communication and collaboration with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively.
WhatYou'll Do
Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, such as store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies, providing process improvement leadership to ensure a high‑quality customer experience.
Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit Loss) statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Ensures that expenses are indexed to sales, monitors effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and providing associate recognition. Communicates expectations consistently, promotes a belonging mindset in the workplace, and recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.
Coordinates, completes, and oversees job‑related activities and assignments, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. Supports plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifies and communicates goals and objectives, builds accountability, and measures progress in achieving results. Identifies and addresses improvement opportunities, demonstrates adaptability, and promotes continuous learning.
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, supports the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity, and implements action plans related to the Open Door Policy. Builds high‑performing teams that embrace differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences. Creates a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected through a culture of belonging.
Qualifications- Minimum:
** 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. - For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition: may require a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Associates must attend and successfully complete all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
- Preferred:
** Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership, or related certification through Live Better U and Bellevue University. - Preferred:
** General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing responsibilities.
