Highline Public Schools is seeking a Director of Inclusion who brings a systems-level vision for ensuring that inclusive education is the foundation to full Highline's promise. This leader advances the district's commitment to knowing every student by name, strength, and need by guiding the continued implementation of inclusive practices in elementary schools and the expansion of this work in secondary settings.
They collaborate closely with district leaders across Student Learning, PK-5 Success, Secondary Instruction, Dual Language, and HiCap to build coherence, align adult learning to the district's Theory of Action, and strengthen instructional leadership across schools. They serve as a key partner to school leaders and staff, supporting them to design learning environments where all students experience belonging, access, and high expectations.
The ideal candidate is an experienced instructional leader who can set clear goals, build strong teams, and cultivate shared ownership for equitable outcomes. They bring the ability to coach leaders, develop staff, and communicate a compelling vision for inclusion that engages principals, teachers, para educators, students, and families. They stay grounded in current best practices for inclusive education, UDL, and SEL, and use this knowledge to guide systemwide improvement.
With strong judgment, relational leadership, and a commitment to students furthest from educational justice, this leader builds the conditions and structures that allow inclusive, high-quality learning experiences to flourish in every school.
