FSCA is currently hiring a Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician to join our recently acquired company,
Corcoran Fleet Services
, to support our combined future growth. The technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, licensed DOT inspections, and other duties as assigned at customer locations. The role requires a commitment to continuous learning of advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques, and the technician must comply with all company policies and achieve high performance metrics.
- Always follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.
- Travel to and perform work at customer locations; most of the work is performed outside.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light and medium vehicles in the field.
- Carry out routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, lifts, and jacks.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of vehicles, including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, gasoline engines, and transmissions.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various vehicle systems, including air conditioning, diesel steering, clutch, differential, and others.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using scanners and pressure gauges.
- Identify problems, determine relevance of information, and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment.
- Order parts independently and pick them up for installation.
- Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Document work according to company standards and upload pictures, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) using a company‑provided cellphone and on paper.
- Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and assist in cleanup at the end of each day.
- Apply knowledge acquired through formal training or on‑the‑job experience to perform tasks and evaluate technical information.
- Work with the support team to assess customer needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
- Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work activities and time allocations effectively.
- Act with integrity, demonstrate honesty, keep commitments, and maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and meet or exceed standard repair times.
- Communicate with the support team in corporate offices for repair estimate approvals and purchase order retrieval.
- Participate in all company‑required safety training.
- Maintain the assigned service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform daily pre/post‑trip inspections.
- Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license required; safe driving record needed.
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform job duties.
