Lead the first‑shift operations in the Valves (Assembly & Test) area at Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Burbank, CA. Manage a team of production workers, maintain a safe and quality‑focused environment, and meet customer demand schedules within cost targets.
Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor II directs a team in a defined area of operations such as metal fabrication, assembly, and/or test. This role enforces safety, quality, and adherence to production schedules. The supervisor may oversee employees on more than one shift.
Essential Functions- Apply lean manufacturing tools and coach teammates in their use.
- Provide resource planning, overtime projections, and productivity improvement inputs for budgeting.
- Assist Value Stream Managers with monthly reporting to senior management.
- Review daily KPIs, identify gaps, and use problem‑solving techniques to address issues.
- Manage non‑conforming materials to ensure proper scrap and rework processing.
- Serve as liaison among product lines and functional areas to verify product build, assembly, and test meet parameters.
- Allocate resources daily to meet established customer requirements.
- Make staffing decisions in line with HR procedures to grow the team.
- Coach and mentor employees through performance planning.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
- Supervisor experience of 3+ years and 5+ years in the field or related area.
- Deep understanding of cellular manufacturing practices.
- Ability to teach continuous improvement skills (standard work, 5S, material replenishment, etc.).
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office.
- Effective written and verbal communication with all business levels.
- Align customer demand with manufacturing capacity to develop labor planning.
- Use data to determine root causes and drive corrective action.
- High‑school diploma or GED (required). Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Eligibility:
This position may require access to Controlled Data; only US persons will be considered under ITAR.
- Normal manufacturing environment; use of PPE such as safety glasses, gowns, masks, hearing protectors, and straps.
- May be exposed to loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes.
- Occasional travel to support customers.
- Tasks: standing ~25 %, sitting ~75 %, lifting up to 10 lb, pushing up to 10 lb, use of computer.
- Workspace: cubicle/desk.

$107,000 – $139,700 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
