Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly technical and analytical professional to support and enhance audit-related systems, data infrastructure, and reporting processes within our theatrical distribution operations. This role serves as a key technical resource responsible for maintaining and advancing automated audit workflows, strengthening data architecture, and delivering actionable financial insights.
The ideal candidate combines strong database expertise with process improvement capabilities and thrives in environments requiring independent ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of automated audit processes, including audit templates, billing logic, invoice generation, and supporting documentation.
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for audit automation and analytics systems.
- Design, maintain, and enhance automation scripts within a custom Microsoft Access database environment.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets from internal Postgre
SQL databases. - Evaluate database structures and advise on improvements to support audit and reporting needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Visual Basic scripts, database functionality, and automated workflows.
- Partner closely with IT teams to diagnose and resolve data integrity, performance, and integration issues involving internal systems and external data providers.
- Drive process improvements to streamline the extraction, formatting, and analysis of financial and operational data.
- Support in-house and external audit teams by delivering accurate data outputs and analytical reporting.
- Lead forecasting, recalculations, and scenario ("what-if") analyses to inform strategic and financial decision-making.
- Act as a thought partner to audit leadership, sharing technical best practices and strengthening overall team capability.
- Work independently while managing priorities and delivering high-quality results within established business rules and processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or systems-focused analytical roles within a corporate environment.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL.
- Strong working knowledge of Visual Basic and Microsoft Access environments.
- Experience working with relational databases (Postgre
SQL preferred). - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS).
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Strong logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Experience supporting audit, revenue accounting, or financial review processes.
- Experience working with external auditors or third-party data providers.
- Familiarity with entertainment, distribution, or exhibition industries.
- Experience improving or modernizing legacy database or automation systems.
- Experience with a motion picture studio or theatre chain is a plus
