The Los Angeles Equestrian Center (LAEC) is a one-of-a-kind, 75-acre property nestled in the heart of Griffith Park, dedicated to the love of horses and the equestrian community. LAEC offers a welcoming space for equine enthusiasts and professionals alike, providing boarding facilities, training arenas, and a calendar of events that range from local competitions to prestigious equestrian showcases. In addition to serving as a hub for horse-related activities, LAEC is also home to various special events, blending the charm of nature with the energy of LA's cultural scene.
** Summary
* * An Event Porter is responsible for setting up, servicing, and cleaning event spaces before, during, and after activations. This role supports event operations and ensures guests experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Duties include preparing event layouts, setting up and resetting furniture (tables and chairs), monitoring restrooms and public areas, replenishing supplies, assisting guests and vendors, managing trash, and performing full venue cleaning and breakdown post-event.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
**** Before the Event
*** Set up chairs, tables, and event furniture according to approved floor plans
* Assist with staging equipment and layout adjustments as requested
* Place linens and organize décor elements as instructed
* Support basic set dressing including lighting, signage, and directional elements
** During the Event
*** Continuously monitor restrooms and public areas; restock paper goods, soap, and sanitizer
* Maintain cleanliness in high-traffic spaces — remove trash, clear tables, wipe spills
* Respond quickly to radio calls for clean-ups or operational support
* Assist guests and vendors by providing directions, running errands, and coordinating needs
* Address immediate operational issues proactively (spills, hazards, misplaced items, etc.)
** After the Event
*** Break down and reset event furniture including chairs and tables
* Perform thorough post-event cleaning including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces
* Remove and dispose of trash and recycling; replace liners
* Dismantle setups, remove décor and linens, and return inventory to storage
* Ensure spaces are restored to pre-event condition or reset for the next event
** Qualifications**
* ** Key Requirements
*** Ability to lift and move heavy items such as banquet tables and stacked chairs (up to 50 lbs)
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* High attention to detail and operational presentation standards
* Ability to take direction and collaborate with event and facility teams
* Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varied shift lengths
* Comfortable in fast-paced hospitality environments
