STEM Science Teacher

Description

St. Francis Xavier Catholic School is seeking an innovative and collaborative STEM-focused Science Teacher for Grades 1–8 for the  school year. The ideal candidate is passionate about inquiry-based learning, hands-on science instruction, and integrating engineering, technology, and problem-solving skills within a faith-centered learning environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching standards-based science with a strong emphasis on STEM and inquiry
• Designing and facilitating hands-on labs, engineering challenges, and project-based learning
• Integrating technology and real-world applications into science instruction
• Differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Assessing student learning and providing timely feedback
• Collaborating with faculty to support cross-curricular STEM initiatives
• Supporting the Catholic mission and values of the school

• Bachelor’s degree required (science, STEM, or education preferred)
• Valid California teaching credential or eligibility preferred
• Experience teaching upper elementary and/or middle school science or STEM preferred
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Commitment to Catholic education (practicing Catholic preferred)
• Completion of required fingerprinting and Virtus training
