Job Overview
We are seeking an organised, professional, and experienced School Administrator to join a busy mainstream school in Nottingham. The successful candidate will play a key role in the effective day-to-day administration of the school, with a particular focus on pupil admissions. This role requires previous experience working in education, strong administrative skills, and a confident understanding of admissions processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and support the school admissions process, including applications, admissions paperwork, and communication with parents/carers
* Maintain accurate pupil records in line with GDPR and school policies
* Act as a first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies, providing a professional and welcoming service
* Support daily administrative operations, including attendance records, data entry, and filing
* Liaise with the Local Authority regarding admissions, transfers, and pupil data
* Use school management systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor, or equivalent) to update and maintain records
* Support senior leaders and office staff with general administrative tasks as required
* Ensure confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience working in an education setting (school or college)
* Proven administrative experience within a busy office environment
* Experience managing or supporting school admissions processes
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Safeguarding & Compliance
* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
* Right to Work in the UK (required)
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable
* Experience using school management systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, etc.)
* Knowledge of GDPR and data protection within education
* Experience working in a mainstream school environment
