The Regional Driver will be responsible for transporting food grade quality goods safely from pickup to delivery destination within a specific region. The Regional Driver is responsible for planning and coordinating with dispatchers for pickups and deliveries. The position often requires several consecutive days of travel, including overnight stays. The Regional Driver will work with both the Dispatch Manager and Transportation Manager for loads and maintenance.

Summary / ObjectiveThe Regional Driver will be responsible for transporting food grade quality goods safely from pickup to delivery destination within a specific region. The Regional Driver is responsible for planning and coordinating with dispatchers for pickups and deliveries. The position often requires several consecutive days of travel, including overnight stays. The Regional Driver will work with both the Dispatch Manager and Transportation Manager for loads and maintenance.
EssentialFunctions
- Drive company-provided equipment as assigned on a regular basis
- Know, understand and comply with all local and regional traffic laws
- Responsible for understanding and complying with all FMCSA and DOT regulations
- Understand and comply with ELD logs and ensure compliance at all times
- Assist in unloading and loading when allowed
- Communicate with shippers and receivers in a professional manner
- Report all accidents, incidents or cargo issues according to department policies
- Represent the company in a professional manner and follow all policies and procedures
- Promote the department vision of Safety, Service and Efficiency
- Identify and report all maintenance issues as well as provide updates on recurring maintenance issues
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Communicate and work as a team member to complete all tasks
- Communicate with employees and customers through written, oral and face-to-face interactions
- Assist other team members in completion of work
- Adhere to all safety standards
- Fill in on over the road trips when required
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to speak professionally to varied people.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Work EnvironmentThe worker is frequently subject to outside environmental conditions: exposed to changing weather conditions. The worker is subject to noise. The worker can be subject to cold and wet conditions.
Physical Demands- Often requires walking or moving to accomplish tasks
- Often requires standing for sustained periods of time
- Occasionally requires stooping and reaching
- Occasionally requires pushing using upper extremities to press against something with steady force
Occasionally requires pulling using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion - Lifting is required on an occasional basis
- Repetitive motions are required which involve substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Sitting for long periods of time
Full-time position. Work varies depending on load availability. Expected Hours of Work:
Varies.
Extensive regional travel required; some national travel as needed.
Required Education And Experience- Valid Class A driver's license with clean driving record.
- Proven safe driving record.
- Excellent customer relations experience required for internal and external customers.
- Results oriented and passionate about the company's business and product line-up.
- Personal integrity, honesty and leadership by example.
- Knowledge of Samsara ELD system preferred.
- Minimum 5-10 years driving experience.
