Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Buford, Georgia.

- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
- Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools when applicable
- Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replaces defective components as instructed
- Works unsupervised on most tasks
- Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the reported issue
- Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Complies with all safety, DOT, MOT, and corporate guidelines
- Mentors Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Accesses and uses internal and external maintenance documents
- Supports other operations as needed (e.g., Service Island support)
- SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT
220) and complete OEM On-Line diagnostic tool courses as required by location fleet mix
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification; post-secondary degree or certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance and brake/tire work
- Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
- Three or more years of relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- All other certifications as required by location
- Must have minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
- Proficient computer skills (PC, Windows)
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire; pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background checks including drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
