The job duties of an ENTEK Field Service Technician are broad and varying. From installation, service and maintenance, Technicians have multiple responsibilities in providing our clients with the very best possible HVAC service in the industry. Entek’s customer base ranges from small single story commercial facilities to large industrial settings with equipment ranging from small split systems to large water‑cooled chillers.

Entek wants to find experienced technicians, enthusiastic about the industry, who are looking to further their career in a proven leader in the HVAC market.

Based out of Buford, GA, and reporting to the Service Manager, the Commercial HVAC Service Technician installs and maintains heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and boiler and chiller systems. This position performs tests and analysis of data to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and provide recommendations to customers. The Technician will monitor, evaluate, and troubleshoot operating equipment and controls to ensure continued safe operation and life cycle performance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • HVAC service and installation in commercial, and industrial settings
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks and warranty work to ensure the efficient and safe operation of HVAC systems
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting system malfunctions, then performing the appropriate HVAC system repairs
  • Recharging refrigerant levels, checking for leaks, and ensuring the refrigerant cycle is functioning correctly in air conditioning, and refrigeration systems
  • Performing energy‑efficiency upgrades, like installing smart thermostats or sealing ducts
  • Explaining maintenance procedures to customers and providing recommendations for system upgrades or replacements
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service calls
Required Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of documentable HVAC level operation, maintenance and repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
  • EPA 608 Certification
  • Customer satisfaction is paramount and technicians must be able to provide our clients with friendly, highly skilled assessments, who can then articulate deficiencies with detail and tact.
  • Being paperless, Entek technicians must be able to input and pull data from varying software platforms, manipulate documents, and detail services performed and materials used.
  • Must be comfortable with Computers/Windows operating system.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug test.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques, electrical circuits, wiring and operating principles of motors, and local electrical codes.
  • Communicate with internal team and customers, follow written and verbal instructions, interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material, perform math, and diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, hand and power tools, and various other HVAC equipment.
  • This position requires: stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, and moving or carrying objects or materials.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
Schedule

Monday through Friday
Overtime is sometimes required
Typical Start Time: 7:30am
Typical End Time: 4:00pm

Physical Demands

This position is a largely a physically active role. Field technicians will regularly push and pull heavy loads, climb, crouch, and maneuver around obstacles to gain position in order to service HVAC equipment.

Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment. Must be able to withstand wide temperature variations as a portion of the work is outside. Equipment inside is often located in very neglected areas that don’t see routine housekeeping so the areas can be soiled…
