Job Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Vinyl Wrap Installer to join our team of craftspeople dedicated to creating world-class vintage vehicles. This specialized role requires an artist's eye for detail combined with technical expertise to apply period-correct stripes and vintage accents that enhance the authentic character of our classic automotive creations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in precision vinyl stripe installation and an unwavering commitment to perfection that matches our standards of excellence.

Job Responsibilities
  • Vintage Stripe Installation & Application
    • Execute precise installation of vintage stripes and decorative vinyl accents on classic vehicles
    • Work with premium vinyl materials in period-correct colors and finishes to maintain authentic vintage aesthetics
    • Apply stripes to complex curved surfaces, following original body lines and maintaining perfect symmetry
    • Ensure razor-sharp stripe edges, flawless alignment, and bubble-free applications across all surfaces
    • Create custom stripe patterns that complement each vehicle's unique design and historical significance
  • Surface Preparation & Quality Control
    • Perform thorough surface preparation including cleaning, decontamination, and paint correction as needed
    • Assess vehicle surfaces for imperfections that could affect wrap quality and longevity
    • Execute proper primer and adhesion promoter applications when necessary
    • Conduct detailed quality inspections throughout the installation process
    • Perform final quality checks to ensure installations meet Vintage Modern's exacting standards
  • Precision Stripe Layout & Trimming
    • Utilize precision measuring and layout techniques to ensure perfect stripe placement and symmetry
    • Create custom templates and guides for consistent stripe installation across multiple vehicles
    • Execute clean, precise cuts for stripe start/end points and seamless transitions around body features
    • Perform meticulous edge trimming to achieve crisp, professional stripe boundaries
    • Maintain sharp, clean cutting tools and use specialized stripe installation equipment
  • Tool & Equipment Management
    • Operate and maintain professional vinyl installation equipment including heat guns, squeegees, and cutting tools
    • Use specialized tools such as infrared thermometers, tack rags, and application fluids
    • Maintain clean, organized workspace with proper tool storage and inventory management
    • Ensure all equipment is calibrated and functioning optimally for consistent results
Qualifications
  • Experience & Skills
    • Minimum 3-5 years of professional automotive vinyl stripe installation experience
    • Proven track record of high-quality vinyl or stripe installations with perfect alignment and symmetry
    • Experience working with luxury, exotic, or vintage vehicles preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Certification from recognized vinyl manufacturers (3M, Avery Dennison, Hexis)
    • Experience with paint protection film (PPF) installation
    • Background in automotive detailing or paint correction
    • Knowledge of vintage vehicle characteristics and special handling requirements
    • Experience with custom design work and pattern creation
    • Familiarity with digital printing and large format graphics
