Position DescriptionPermanent full‑time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet at Ryder in Buford, Georgia.

- Hourly Pay: $30.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday; weekends off - Hours:
Second Shift – Monday 12:30 pm‑9:00 pm, Tuesday–Friday 2:30 pm‑11:00 pm
- Annual Merit Pay increases every year

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems (required)
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)
- Valid CDL Class A (preferred; required by some locations)
- All other certification as required by location (required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment (required)
- Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc. (required)
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire (required)
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background and motor‑vehicle check (required)
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Complete complex mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation
- Comply with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Demonstrate ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
- SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT
220) - Complete 2 of the OEM on‑line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix (completed within 365 days)
