Role DescriptionThe individual in the customer & office support role is a trusted, central point of contact for our carriers, customers and supporting our day-to-day operations. This person will support our staff to ensure timely pick-up and delivery. Shift is Monday – Friday 10:00am – 7:00pm and alternating weekend availability and coverage remotely.
Responsibilities- Assisting drivers via phone/text with setting up Macropoint tracking applications on their phones
- Assisting our team with collecting Proof of Delivery (PODs) for timely invoicing
- Help with scheduling and managing pickup and deliveries of shipments. Maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process
- Setting up customs clearances with Canadian/US customs brokers and following up
- Maintain customer profiles and enter shipments into McLeod software
- Help Solicit Freight Quotations for Spot
- Maintain and update accurate information in company’s operating systems, tracking shipments to completion
- Coordinating daily carrier activities with customers and operations team
- Adhere to established operating procedures while looking for opportunities to measure and improve
- Strong skills in Communication and Customer Service to effectively address client inquiries and maintain professional relationships
- Proficiency in Administrative Assistance and Office Administration to support daily office functions and operational efficiency
- Basic knowledge or experience in Accounting to assist with financial and logistical documentation
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in office software and familiarity with logistics management systems is a plus
- Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in logistics, administration, or related fields is beneficial
