Duties Description
Position Summary:
Campus Living is accepting applications for the Maintenance Assistant position. In this role, you will work with a team of dynamic and diverse individuals and ensure that structures and equipment are installed correctly, properly maintained and repaired as needed across UB's North and South campuses. All the Student Life trades, and custodial staff work within UB's residential halls and apartments.
In a typical year, Campus Living houses up to 7,500 students skilled trades and custodial staff care for the buildings our students live in. Our priority is the health and safety of our students. Without dedicated cleaners and maintenance staff, the university would not be able to have a residential program.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Assistant, your contributions will ensure that structures and equipment are installed correctly, properly maintained, and repaired as needed.
Responsibilities include:
* Performs routine replacement and repair of plumbing equipment.
* Repairing and installing equipment such as dishwashers, laundry equipment, repair leaks in water lined.
* Maintain and hang signage.
* Semiskilled carpentry activities including repairing doors, windows, stairs, railing, furniture, locks, and door hardware.
* Masonry and concrete repairs or installations
* Paint and make repairs to vacant living spaces.
* Install light fixtures, outlets, and switches.
* Repair electrical equipment.
