Description
We are recruiting for Low Voltage Technicians for Barker NY. Client will pay for Technicians to travel.
The Low Voltage Technician is responsible for installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber optic cabling systems in commercial environments. This role supports structured cabling projects and ensures work is completed to company, customer, and industry standards.
Responsibilities- Perform pre‑termination procedures incl. organizing, forming, dressing, labeling, determining proper cable length and slack
- Pull, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling
- Properly suspend and support cabling using cable tray, J‑hooks, D‑rings, bridal rings, and trapeze systems
- Install work area outlets (wall or floor), including CAT3 and CAT5 terminations, faceplates, and surface‑mount boxes
- Build and outfit telecom closets by installing backboards, racks, patch panels, cross‑connects, fiber hardware, and grounding
- Complete all IDC connections, including 110 and 66 blocks and patch panels
- Test cabling using Fluke testers, volt‑ohm meters, tone sets, and continuity testing equipment
- Troubleshoot opens, shorts, crosses, and transposed pairs on horizontal and riser cabling
- Identify active voice and data circuits
- Accurately complete all required paperwork including timesheets, work orders, material transfers, change orders, and tool transfers
- Experience pulling fiber optic cable
- Experience terminating copper and fiber
- Experience testing cabling with Fluke testers
- Experience dressing and managing cable (preferred)

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
