Shop Technician

Shop Technician –
Buffalo, NY Branch, Full Time

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment
• Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient and professional manner
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Work and manage workloads independently
• Properly complete and submit all required paperwork
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance, including arriving at the designated start time

• Valid NYS driver's license
• Two years of forklift repair experience preferred, including Military, Guard or Reserve MOS/NEC codes (e.g., 63B, 63H, 63S, 63W, 63Y, 91B, 91H, 91L, 91M or CM)
• Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Own tools
• Computer programs – HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software, Yale/Hyster contact management system
• Intermediate language skills – read, interpret safety and maintenance documents, write routine reports, speak effectively before groups
• Basic mathematical skills – add, subtract, multiply and divide within American units
• Intermediate reasoning ability – apply common sense to instructions, solve problems in standardized situations

• Stand, walk, use hands, reach – regular
• Talk/hear – frequent
• Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl – occasional
• No special vision requirements
• Lift 10 lbs – regular; 11‑25 lbs – frequent; 26‑100+ lbs – occasional
• Work near moving mechanical parts; exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather; occasional wet or humid conditions; extreme cold/heat; electrical shock, vibration
