Summary:
The Sales Director will support the Cloud & Marketing team in identifying and securing new business and driving marketing leads, while also managing a small portfolio of new and existing accounts. This position is remote within the US.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for achieving sales quota targets and delivering on annual, quarterly, and monthly KPIs
- Identify new opportunities and sales pipeline across the industry where Synacor products and services can be positioned for new business
- Collaborate with internal team members across the organization including, but not limited to: sales engineers, technical product resources, finance, legal, and others to ensure detailed and pointed technical reviews are presented to further advance the sales process and support client requests, timely.
- Identify and develop opportunities for growth of key accounts; build and maintain a robust sales upsell pipeline pushing opportunities through the sales cycle to close.
- Secure and execute face-to-face client meetings to foster relationships, growth opportunities, and overall retention.
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients from the time a contract is signed, including kickoff, launch, optimization, and growth.
- Provide customer support, process sales, and create sales reports as needed. Assist clients with ad hoc issues or questions relating to account or product launch.
- Understand client/market needs and champion product improvements (e.g. new features and functionality) to support customer retention
- Communicating and coordinating with potential customers via phone, e‑mail, and in person about Synacor’s products and services.
- Develops strategies focused on expanding client base within defined market segments.
- Increase exposure for Synacoramong key decision makers in the TV Everywhere, Identify Management community.
- Providing support for corporate events, including conferences, and meetings for local, state, national and/or international audiences.
- Responsible for a variety of administrative functions necessary for the daily operation of the sales team and fulfillment of offers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
- B.A./B.S. degree in in Business or related field.
- 5+ year’s relevant and proven experience in strategic account management or sales.
- Experience in the cable/satellite/telco/OTT industry or identity management/video technical sales required.
- Strong industry knowledge related to Synacor’s product lines – TV Everywhere, Identity Management, Digital Media experiences
- Excellence in team environment requiring close collaboration and effective communication with a diverse, global team
- Seasoned business writing and proofreading skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong desire to be proactive and take ownership of client relationships
- Strong sales acumen
- Candidate must possess the ability to work within a team-oriented environment, but still excel as an individual contributor
- Candidate should be an outgoing and energetic self-starter with a passion for working with clients and identifying opportunities
- Strong communication skills in selling to new clients, selling renewals and new products, supporting and maintaining existing client relationships
- Excellent computer skills required including proficiency with MS Office, Salesforce/CRM, etc.
