For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $22 - $29 per hour. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and may also include premium pay or differentials, depending on location.
The compensation rate for this position is for candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This position is located in Cheektowaga, NY.
What will you do?- Conducting Quality Inspections
:
Perform thorough inspections and tests on sub-assemblies and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards. - Quality Control Documentation
:
Maintain and update quality control documentation, including inspection reports, test data, and non-conformance records. Ensure all documentation is accurate, organized, and accessible for reference. - Training and Mentorship
:
Provide guidance and mentorship to Assembly Technician 1 - 3, ensuring their professional development and maintaining a high level of competence within the team(s). - Process Auditing
:
Conduct internal process audits to assess adherence to quality procedures, process controls, and best practices. Recommend process improvements and monitor their implementation. - Continuous Improvement
:
Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the quality assurance department and contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. - Root Cause Analysis
:
Utilize problem-solving skills and advanced analytical techniques to identify the root causes of quality issues and non-conformances. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions. - Supplier Quality Management Support
:
Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate and monitor suppliers' quality performance, supplier audit support, and address quality-related issues with procurement and suppliers. - New Product Development (NPD) Release
:
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to approve products for release based on comprehensive quality evaluations and tests. - Performs additional tasks / projects as required.
- Interpretation and Verification: Read and interpret specifications, blueprints, and standards to confirm product requirements. Compare products to requirements and ensure completion of operations or assemblies.
- Inspection: Utilize knowledge of GD&T to inspect products for compliance with order specifications. Identify imperfections and damage. (Minimum 2 years GD&T experience).
- Defect Management: Reject defective parts, recording the type of defect on the part, container, or inspection tag as required. Ensure segregation of defective parts or materials.
- Testing and Quality Checks: Conduct various tests and quality checks on products to ensure they meet standards, specifications, and tolerances. Operate diagnostic equipment as needed.
- Data Management: Record and maintain test data, process data, and transactions into the computer.
- Quality Improvement: Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within equipment capabilities.
- Work Area Maintenance: Ensure the work area is kept clean and always organized.
- Compliance: Maintain knowledge, understanding, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Safety Advocacy: Promote and insist on safe practices throughout the inspection areas.
- Additional Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned.
- 1-3 years of experience in quality assurance within an electro‑mechanical product environment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Proficiency in reading and setting tolerances, working from blueprints, and interpreting metal rules.
- Strong attention to detail and record‑keeping skills.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Email).
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending simple instructions and correspondence.
