Practice of registered professional nursing by a nurse practitioner may include the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions and the performance of therapeutic and corrective measures within a specialty of practice, in collaboration with a licensed physician qualified to collaborate in the specialty involved, provided such services are performed in accordance with a written practice agreement and written practice protocols.

Completion of masters, post-masters’ or doctorate NP program accredited by CCNE or ACEN required. Current active RN and NP license in NYS required. National NP certification required.

Required at the time of application. Current BLS, ACLS, NRP required. DEA or DEA eligible required. Agreement from appropriate physician to enter into a collaborative agreement required.

At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience required. Two (2) years of clinical experience in specialty area of practice (i.e. NICU, nursery) as RN or NP preferred.
