SummaryPerforms patient care, health teaching and health counseling in an oncology setting, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed independent provider; assists in the goal of individualizing the care of patients in an attempt to support the patients to adapt to the disease process and achieve the highest level of wellness; performs routine nursing care procedures; screens, performs venipuncture and monitors plateletpheresis and whole blood donor procedures;
maintains donor and product safety ensuring compliance with State and Federal procedure regulations; enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
- License requirement:
License or permit to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York. - Education and experience:
Graduation from an accredited practical nursing school’s LPN program.
