• Assesses and treats human responses to actual and potential health problems through case finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive or restorative of life and well-being.
• Executes medical regimens prescribed by a licensed physician, dentist, or other licensed health care provider legally authorized under the NYS Education Department and in accordance with NYS Department of Health regulations.

• Current NYS registration as a Registered Professional Nurse/RN Permit required upon hire and must be maintained thereafter.
• American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of Hire and must be maintained thereafter.
• RN Critical Care - American Academy of Pediatrics or American Heart Association PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within one (1) year of hire/transfer for RN Critical Care in the Emergency Departments. PALS must be maintained thereafter.
• RN Critical Care - American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within one (1) year of hire/transfer for RN Critical Care in Emergency Departments. ACLS must be maintained thereafter.

• RN Critical Care - All Emergency Departments - require 1 year of acute care experience OR 1 year of EMS or paramedic experience.
• RN Critical Care - Adult - Requires 1 year of previous healthcare or hospital experience.
