Title:
LPN.
Reports to:
Nurse Manager.
Assists with nursing care of patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Duties And Responsibilities- Greets patient and provides comfort and reassurance while supporting the patient's right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Stocks all areas of the Center with supplies, including refrigerators with nourishment for patients.
- Takes vital signs, including patient weights, and reports them to the RN. Documents appropriately in EMR.
- Performs point‑of‑care testing (e.g., blood glucose, pregnancy, drugs of abuse) as directed by the RN.
- Assists in monitoring patients' physical symptoms and behavioral changes, reporting any concerns to the RN.
- Administers pre‑operative and/or post‑operative medications within LPN scope under the guidance of the RN, documenting appropriately in EMR.
- Provides nourishment for patients under RN supervision.
- Assists patients in moving in and out of bed and to the bathroom as per RN instructions.
- Assists patient in dressing as needed.
- Provides patients and families with discharge instructions per the RN, documenting appropriately in EMR.
- Escorts patients to car after discharge.
- Cleans equipment in all areas of the Center according to manufacturer recommendations and stores equipment safely.
- Performs room turnover and appropriate room cleaning in all areas of the Center in accordance with Center policy.
- Performs pre‑operative and post‑operative patient phone calls and documents appropriately in EMR.
- Schedules procedures in EMR as needed.
- Performs other clerical tasks as needed.
- Graduate of a practical nursing program.
- Active LPN license.
- Prior experience in a physician’s office or health‑care setting.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Ability to sit/stand for a considerable amount of time; ability to walk.
- Visual and auditory acuity for frequent use of computer, telephone, and occasional use of other office equipment.
- Ability to perform occasional overhead and low reaching.
- Physical strength required for equipment needs and patient‑care activities.
- Visual and auditory acuity for timely responsiveness and patient‑care assessment activities.
- Ability to move quickly in response to center needs.
- Constant and frequent judgment and response.
- Occasional judgment and response to disasters or emergencies, actual events, or drills.
- Well‑lit and ventilated environment, with non‑hazardous and hazardous equipment.
- Category I: involves occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids and materials.
