Production Scheduler

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a production scheduler, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations and on-time delivery for our customers. In this position, you'll create the weekly production schedule, maintain accurate ERP data, and collaborate across departments to optimize resources and drive efficiency.

Job Summary:

The production scheduler is responsible for creating the production schedule for multiple manufacturing and product lines to ensure jobs are completed on time, efficiently, and according to customer requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Review daily customer orders and create manufacturing plans considering lead times, resource availability, and production capacity.

* Schedule manufacturing orders and maintain daily updates on plant status and order progress.

* Review raw material availability, inventory levels and tooling carefully prior to production scheduling to ensure accurate and efficient planning.

* Identify risks that may affect production schedules and develop proactive solutions.

* Monitor production progress, address delays or issues, and communicate changes promptly to Customer Service, Production Manager, and General Manager.

* Prepare and share regular reports and metrics on order status, delivery performance, and process improvements.

* Work closely with manufacturing and customer service departments to implement scheduling best practices, gang jobs and meet customer delivery expectations.

* Lead or participate in production meetings, safety programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) in ERP system (QAD), ensuring ongoing accuracy and timely updates as required.

* Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and confidentiality requirements.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

* Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

* Effective communication and coordination across departments.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.

* Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (QAD preferred, SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards acceptable).

* Advanced Excel and data analysis skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, dashboards).

* Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and compliance requirements.

* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, supply chain, or related field experience

* At least three years of experience in production scheduling for multiple manufacturing and product lines

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer.

* Occasionally moves up to 50 lbs. across office for various needs.

Salary range: $75,000 - 85,000 actual compensation will be based on experience.
