Production Manager

Operations regularly run from 11PM Sunday night to 11:30PM Friday night with some Saturday coverage as assigned.
This position would be for second shift (3pm-11:30pm) with flexibility to adjust for production or staffing needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Production Management- Oversee daily production activities to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Assign tasks and monitor progress to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Manage staffing levels and schedules to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Ensure proper operation of all manufacturing equipment, requesting maintenance when necessary.
- Responsible for on-time delivery of customer jobs as well as R&D/sample requests.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and reduce waste.
- Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to optimize production.
- Lead, train, and develop production staff through processes including 1:1 meetings, talent assessments, and succession planning.
- Approve and edit time and attendance requests and records for direct reports.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Use progressive discipline as needed within approved guidelines.
- Identify and make recommendations for any employee cross-training, transfer, or advancement opportunities.
- Work with appropriate resources to implement and develop training programs and materials using competency-based assessment.
- Participate in candidate selection for open positions.
- Ensure compliance with QMS.
- Support Tapecon manufacturing policies, quality plan, and ISO procedures.
- Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures and processes.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve quality issues or customer complaints.
- Participates in corrective and preventive action responses.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety training and audits to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Responsible for promoting a positive work environment and leading by example in their demonstration of our company core values.
- Maintain data integrity of the ERP system by regularly reviewing records and correcting errors.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of production data into the ERP system.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve ERP-related issues.
- Train production staff on proper data entry and usage of the ERP system.
- Prepare and present production reports to management.
- Support the supply chain team to manage inventory levels and materials.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 to 5 years of related production experience
- Associate degree in Business Management or equivalent supervisory experience of 2+ years highly preferred
- Experience using an Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Works well in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Works well under pressure
- Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
- Experience with a visual workplace, 5S and safety
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to read basic blueprints
