Mechanical Technician

Candidate would be a member of the CUBRC Aerosciences group involved with high-speed wind tunnel testing. On-the-job training would be provided for assisting in mechanical operation, repair and maintenance of the tunnels and support equipment.

• Able to work independently with guidance and supervision of experienced staff
• Possess basic hand tools to perform their job within the scope of duties
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safety for yourself and others
• Able to work in a physically demanding environment
• Willing to work extended hours occasionally

• High school diploma or GED
• Trade school certificate, degree, or relevant apprenticeship program or work experience

• Knowledge of rigging & lifting, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Ability to operate various manual machines such as mills, lathes, saws, grinders, drills, etc.
• Inspection of parts with precision instruments
• Basic electrical wiring knowledge
