1st

Shift Packer

This position is part of the Finishing Department and helps with packing and preparing packages for the warehouse to ship. This position reports to the Finishing Supervisor.

Pay Rate: $18.00-$20.00/hour

Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 6:30AM-3:00PM, with occasional overtime

Responsibilities
  • Receives job assignments from Finishing Supervisor or Team Lead; reads job specifications
  • Reviews job jacket to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressed
  • Creates packing slips and bills of lading through the ERP system
  • Uses manual pallet jack to move pallets of boxes
  • Inspect products to ensure quality and integrity of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items to be shipped
  • Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobs
  • Completes paperwork for each job and packages finished goods for shipment to customer
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Manufacturing Experience Is Preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Primarily works in a manufacturing setting, which contains equipment and machinery that can be noisy and hazardous.
