Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is hiring for a Machine Operator Trainee on the 3rd shift focused on ricotta packaging. This role involves operation, setup, monitoring, and basic maintenance of the filling line to ensure quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities- Perform pre-shift operational inspection of the filling machine to determine condition.
- Set up filling machine and related equipment for the product run.
- Monitor filling machine during line operation to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational/mechanical problems in a timely manner to maintain smooth production flow.
- Monitor seal impressions, integrity, and product giveaway.
- Change film as needed to maintain continuous production.
- Perform product changeovers as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance on a daily/weekly schedule as required.
- Maintain open communication with the production palletizer, lead person, and supervisor.
- Perform proper sanitation of the filler before introducing product.
- Monitor for abnormalities in texture, shape, color, odor, or foreign material.
- Monitor codes (date, lot number, operator code) on packaged product.
- Familiarize self with standard operating procedures and monitor product temperature during filling.
- Monitor cup wash and cooling spirals and address any issues.
- Keep the work area neat and clean at all times.
- Basic mathematical skills (ability to calculate averages).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Dependable and able to work well in a team environment.
- Food industry experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED (required).
