Responsibilities- Lead a team of direct reports that include inspection programmers.
- Be part of the manufacturing quality leadership team, which includes the Inspection manager and the PQE manager.
- Collaborate with a cross‑functional staff demonstrating Moog Culture and Values.
- The ability to work tactically to complete day‑to‑day activities while focusing on continuous improvement to set us up for the future.
- Standardize programming techniques and inspection tools to reduce programming time.
- Facilitate resolution of all issues that may impact objectives for quality, cost, delivery and safety.
- Champion adherence to Moog Systems and Procedures in carrying out decisions within inspection programming.
- Coordinate functions to ensure all required support services are effectively and efficiently planned, provided, and utilized.
- Champion and foster a culture of collaboration, results‑based operational excellence, customer orientation, strong awareness of quality, process orientation and continuous improvement and safety.
- Recognize future inspection issues or constraints and develop a plan to avoid them before they become a problem.
- Ensure that relevant, accurate, and timely communication and reports are acquired from and delivered to stakeholders.
- Successfully lead and support shop floor change projects, support product transition projects to and from East Aurora Military Aircraft Group Operations.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, with progressive levels of accountability and responsibility in a machine shop environment.
- 5+ years of management experience, including demonstrated capability of leading, developing and coaching high‑performing teams of employees.
- Leading through influence and partnering with cross‑functional teams to develop and deliver tactical plans that achieve operation objectives.
- Effectively leading through organizational changes.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with a proven track record of enacting lean manufacturing strategies and implementing process/programming improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to find opportunities to lean out processes, including inspection equipment and inspection work‑holding techniques.
- Strong working knowledge of CMMs and automated inspection equipment. (Zeiss CMM experience is preferred)
Buffalo, NY $85,000.00 – $ Annually
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region‑specific benefits.
This position requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information.
