Application Information

The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport offers meaningful work that supports recreation, heritage, cultural engagement, and high-quality visitor experiences across Saskatchewan’s provincial parks. Buffalo Pound Provincial Park is seeking a dynamic, flexible Labour Service Park Interpreter to join the Visitor Experiences team and help connect residents and visitors with the province’s natural and cultural heritage.

The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of Saskatchewan’s biological and cultural diversity and can develop and deliver engaging, interactive programs. They are collaborative, creative, and comfortable working both independently and within a team of interpreters. Sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to present public programs with confidence are essential. Candidates should be adaptable, willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions while safely leading excursions.

Key qualifications include experience designing and delivering interpretive or educational programming, the ability to prepare reports and promotional materials, and comfort facilitating curriculum-based school programs, cultural interpretation, special events, and recreational activities. The role requires lifting up to 23 kg, including canoes and equipment, and occasionally traveling to other parks for work or training. A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent) is required.

The position runs full-time from late April through September, with potential part-time opportunities in fall and winter.
