JOB TITLE: IT Support Specialist
REPORTS TO: Corporate IT Director
LOCATION: 127 Fillmore Ave. Buffalo NY, 14210
JOB TYPE: Full-time, exempt.
HOURS: Monday-Friday, Saturdays as needed 40+ hour work week is required.
COMPENSATION: $62,354 - 75,000/annually, based on knowledge, experience, and skills.
This position is responsible for providing technical support to internal employees across multiple locations. Support may range from simple troubleshooting to more complicated issues. Provides support to the IT Director with projects and initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Provide efficient and effective support via phone calls, text messages, and IT ticket system.
- Provide remote user access support.
- Troubleshooting of PC, Laptop, Server, Printer, and Networking Hardware.
- Installation and troubleshooting of specialty devices:
Scanners, Thermal Printers, etc. - Support and Troubleshooting of:
Phone Systems, Security and Camera Systems, ERP Systems, and Company Cell Phones including MDM. - Field work in both office and industrial setting - troubleshooting network issues, installing new network equipment and other miscellaneous equipment/hardware.
- Assist with planning of upgrades and installations (hardware & software).
- Minimize and eliminate IT issues at all locations.
- Backup and disaster recovery.
- Anti-virus and Cyber Security.
- Monitoring of network usage.
- Adhere to Company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner.
- Support Company and Team.
- Maintains Company confidentiality.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
- Informing/communicating with the management and personnel at all Metalico locations.
- Ensure that Quality, Environmental and Safety standards of Metalico for production, customers, and employees are consistently achieved.
- Other duties as required to attain Company goals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related undergraduate coursework and/or Microsoft Certifications.
- 2+ years' experience in IT end-user support.
- Must be reliable, prompt and able to adapt to a variety of situations while working at an efficient pace.
- Ability to work inside or outside as required.
- Should be available for limited travel/fly independently.
- Excellent IT support and listening skills.
- High energy with attention to detail.
- Focus on closing out tickets completely.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to maintain 100% efficiency.
- Competency in the following areas:
- MS Office, Office 365, Windows Operating Systems, Windows Server (including Active Directory), MS SQL Administration, Wired & Wireless Networking.
- Ability to crimp - CAT 5, 5e, 6 cables.
- Travel between Metalico locations as needed (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Bradford, Erie, and as needed in the PA/OH region).
- 50% day-time travel.
- 5-10% overnight travel.

- Lifts/carries up to 50 lbs. from the floor to waist level, and ability to carry those objects for at least 30 feet.
- Push/pull material no more than 50 lbs. at a time.
Physically able to participate in sessions, presentations, trainings, and meetings.

- Work may take place in an industrial environment, with noise, dust and fumes.
- May perform outside work in the Yard/Facilities is where temperature and weather extremes (heat, cold, rain) may be encountered.
