Hourly Pay Rate: $25.00
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-3:30PM
Coordinates all activities of the payroll specialist, assists administration and accounting functions required for bi-weekly payroll. Responsible for ensuring confidentiality is strictly maintained concerning all agency related information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES- Works with Payroll Manager to ensure all staff jobs are streamlined for maximum job performance and timeliness.
- Cover for the Payroll Manager when they are not available.
- Responsible for ensuring that all necessary tasks for an accurate payroll are completed by the payroll team on a bi-weekly basis.
- Coordinates and imports all employees change forms within the organization and ensures accuracy of all transactions.
- Organizes daily payroll responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow for payroll staff.
- Make judgments and search for solutions by interpreting guidelines and regulations.
- Provides information to management as needed.
- Assists in the annual audit and provides any needed information.
- Assists in the assessment, development and implementation of payroll policy and procedures.
- Completes training for all new hires and existing payroll specialists.
- Assists with answering payroll related questions from payroll specialists and other employees.
- Process supplemental payroll on a bi-weekly basis and complete emergency checks when needed.
- Organizes and distributes payroll emails to payroll specialists and management team.
- Responsible for ensuring payroll specialist training material and guides are updated quarterly with new policies and procedures.
- Creates and runs reports in Cognos when needed.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in accounting/business or related program and experience working in a payroll department or related field.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Excel.
- High working knowledge of payroll and time keeping software.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
