This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Benefits Specialist based in Buffalo, NY, with the flexibility to work remotely part of the time. The Benefits Specialist will administer various employee benefit programs, including health, dental, life, and disability insurance. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with legal regulations like FMLA, addressing employee inquiries, assisting with enrollments, and maintaining benefits documentation. Effective communication with employees, insurers, and other stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service is a key component of this role.
THIS IS A 1099 ROLE AND YOUR COMPENSATION IS DIRECTLY TIED TO YOUR PERFORMANCE. NO BASE SALARY BUT WE GET PAID IN 4 DIFFERENT WAYS.
- Experience in Benefits Administration and knowledge of Insurance policies
- Understanding of the U.S. Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and related regulations
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills, with the ability to clearly explain benefit options and resolve concerns
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency in relevant software or platforms, including benefits administration systems
- Prior experience in human resources or employee benefits is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
