Acts as a manager and certified coder, assisting in the planning, organizing, directing and evaluation of the administrative and front-end revenue functions for assigned unit(s). Oversees the patient reception registration representatives (PRRs) and patient quality enhancement representatives to ensure the provision of quality registration and accurate coding of diagnosis and procedures for maximum reimbursement. Fosters cooperative and collaborative relationships with the physicians and establishes and maintains good internal and external customer relationships.
Assists the Nurse Manager with administering business operations (e.g. budgeting and management reporting), managing staff (hiring, terminating, disciplining, counseling, approving payroll and time records) and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
Bachelor degree required. Kaleida Outpatient Coding and Medical Terminology Assessment.
Experience2 years of experience in clinical setting. Required. 1 year of experience in leadership or supervisory role preferred. Demonstrates knowledge of payor issues and coding requirements as they relate to OIG, CMS, and State payor rules and regulations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include advanced functions. Knowledge of internet and intranet functions. Working knowledge of eclypsis, cerner scheduling and clinic/hospital registration processes.
Basic computer skills.
