NCCT Tech in Surgery Certified (TS-C).
OR-Certified Surgical Technologist - NBSTSA or National Health career Association.

Must-Have:
CVOR and Cardiothoracic experience (CABG, Valve replacements, VATS, Robotic chest procedures)

Description:

Under general direction, observes and practices sterile technique.
Maintains asepsis and anticipates the needs of the surgeon as needed.
Actively participates in patient care and safety.
Utilizes operating room supplies conservatively and operates as a team member of the operating room staff.
Follows infection control policies and procedures and demonstrates expertise in surgical scrub technique.
Adheres to principles of sterile technique preoperatively and intra-operatively.
Assists the surgeon when needed with gowning, gloving, draping, and passing instruments and related items during the procedure.
Anticipates the surgeon's need for instruments, sutures, and equipment.
Maintains an organized operative field at all times by keeping instruments clean and in their proper place.
Keeps an accurate sponge, tape, needle, dissector, and instrument count.
Prepares for cases by assembling supplies and equipment in accordance with preference cards and identifies conflicts or problems.
Cares appropriately for instruments and supplies after each case.
Provides a safe surgical environment for the patient, identifying potential hazards to the surgeon and assisting personnel in preoperative checks of equipment.
Displays knowledge of potential hazards (equipment, chemicals, or gases) within the operating room.
Utilizes experienced staff as a resource and acts as a resource for new personnel.
Assists in suturing, retracting, and suctioning under the direction of the surgeon.
Handles and identifies specimens per policy.
Expedites the effective and efficient turnover of the operating room between cases.
Takes rotating call duty.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested.
Day rotation (Monday to Friday) with 40 hours per week.
Call requirements include up to 3 shifts of call per week, ranging from 8 to 16 hours.
One working weekend every 4 weeks with a call shift following the working shift.
