Base pay range$39.50/hr — $79.00/hr
Buffalo Hearing & Speech is looking for pediatric Physical Therapists in the Western New York area to work part time as a Fee for Service employee conducting therapy sessions with children.
Fee for Service Early Intervention (EI) & Related Services (RSO) cases- Children birth - 5 years old in homes, daycares, or school settings.
- School-age (K-12) in homes in the Northtowns.
- Rates are $39.50 for 30 minute individual sessions.
BHSC also offers a free continuing education series to employees and our Fee for Service employees are eligible to accrue paid sick leave.
Job SummaryThe Physical Therapist (“PT”) is responsible for providing PT services to children and clients of BHSC whose ability to function is impaired by congenital or developmental disability, physical illness or injury, through examinations, evaluations, diagnosis, prognosis and interventions for the highest functional outcomes.
Essential Functions- Display thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of physical therapy.
- Adhere to the standards of clinical practice established by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Responsible for the evaluation of therapy needs. Participate in the creation of the treatment plan, revising as necessary.
- Perform physical therapy procedures as ordered by physician or documented on IEP. Communicate with OT/PT Manager as appropriate to evaluate patient needs.
- Collaborate with other team members or those individuals designated by the agency (e.g., family members, teachers, speech‑language pathologists, consumers, etc.) to facilitate comprehensive treatment.
- Serve as a supervisor and mentor to PTAs as well as student PTs.
- Participate in the delivery of in‑service education programs and formal staff training as appropriate.
- Record on patient charts all appropriate occupational therapy evaluations, progress notes, consultations, and discharge summary information. Submit all notes, evaluations, and required forms within agency guidelines and maintain such records and prepare reports as requested by the agency.
- Make recommendations for purchases of specialized program materials, supplies, and adaptive equipment.
- Any other duties as requested by your supervisor.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer-based programs.
- PT behavioral competencies.
Graduate of a Physical Therapy curriculum from an accredited university or college.
Required LicenseNew York State Licensed and Registered as a Physical Therapist.
Physical Requirements- Physical actions may include, but are not limited to: standing, sitting, bending, lifting, kneeling, squatting, reaching, crawling, running, twisting & turning.
- Vision, speech, tactical and hearing senses adequate to perform job requirements.
- Frequent sitting/standing and when appropriate, floor sitting with pediatric patients.
