Clinical Director: FPS Recruitment, Marketing and Advertising Unit

Buffalo Psychiatric Center (BPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, is recruiting a Clinical Director to serve the Chief Medical Officer. The Clinical Director will administer, oversee, evaluate, and continuously improve all psychiatric, medical, and contracted medical services provided by staff and consultants at BPC.

  • Participation in overall executive management and strategic plan development.
  • Oversight of the credentialing and privileging process.
  • Development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Compliance with OMH, The Joint Commission (TJC), ACGME, and other external accrediting bodies’ standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Promotion of culturally competent, person-centered, and recovery-focused care.

The Clinical Director ensures that the clinical mission of BPC is successfully aligned with the overall mission of OMH to promote the mental health and well-being of all New Yorkers so that they can reach their goal of.

About BPC

BPC’s mission is to serve individuals with serious mental illness in a way that empowers them, and fosters hope and recovery. BPC provides adult inpatient, community services, residential, vocational, and wellness services to individuals in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Niagara counties. BPC’s inpatient services include eight units, rehabilitation services, and discipline departments such as social work and psychology. The outpatient services include five Recovery and Treatment Centers (RTC), Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Program, and Mobile Integration Team (MIT).

BPC is located in the beautiful Buffalo‑Niagara region of Western New York and offers a blend of urban and rural living, excellent schools, and a wide variety of recreational activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State or a New York State limited permit and licensure in another state or Canada.
  • Certification in Psychiatry issued by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or an equivalent certifying body.
  • Seven years of experience providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness, including at least two years of supervising physicians and other clinical staff responsible for delivering treatment services; providing direction on program objectives, policy implementation, and guidance to clinical specialists.

Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in Medicaid and Medicare programs.
