Job Summary
The Division of Population Health, Department of Medicine within the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences seeks a Health Educator
. In this role you will deliver protocol‑driven health education interventions to study participants via face‑to‑face, telephone, or videoconferencing technology as appropriate. The ideal candidate will practice strategic thinking, attention to detail, be dependable, enjoy working in a highly collaborative setting, and remain flexible in a fast‑paced environment.
- Protocol‑driven health education and participant support tasks
- Deliver protocol‑driven health education interventions to study participants.
- Schedule and coordinate sessions, attend and participate in supervision sessions, record sessions as directed, and perform research health educator data collection during initial visit and follow‑up sessions.
- Organize and remind study participants of upcoming appointments.
- Train study participants on key elements of the study protocol.
- Clinical research support tasks
- Collect blood and other biological specimen samples.
- Measure and record vital signs and anthropometric measures.
- Review, calibrate, and perform quality control assessments of lab equipment.
- Serve as a liaison with lab staff to triage and interpret results.
- Research coordination and community engagement tasks
- Assist with multiple research grants as needed, supporting the PI in writing and presenting research reports and protocols.
- Perform duties needed, including case management and decision‑making, and work collaboratively with other center personnel to achieve goals of research studies.
- Serve as liaison to various team members to ensure smooth running of research projects.
- Provide health education to community sites, establish and nurture community partnerships, and work with designated community sites to advance research, education, and training mission of the center.
- Knowledge of biology, clinical judgment, documentation, records management, and cultural awareness.

Part Time (20 hours per week), typically scheduled between the hours of 7 am–6 pm.
