Location:
Williamsville, Buffalo, NY.
- Prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in both pediatric and adult patients.
- Impart knowledge through appropriate Speech‑Language Pathology instruction.
- Determine type, severity, prognosis, and appropriate instruction and treatment for speech‑language impairments.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and recommend therapeutic interventions for individuals with communication disorders.
- Collaborate with other professionals such as classroom teachers, other SLPs, OT, PT, audiologists, supervisors, etc.
- Submit written reports of evaluations, treatment plans, progress, and discharge reports; maintain paperwork within legal and agency guidelines.
- Make appropriate referrals to support therapeutic outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with families and students.
- Continue professional development through continuing education programs, in‑service programs, and formal staff training; maintain SLP licensure and TSSLD certification.
- Supervise CFYs and TSSLDs in compliance with legal guidelines and agency policies.
- Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.
- Master’s degree from an accredited speech‑language pathology program.
- New York State licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist (or CFY eligible).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology issued by the American Speech‑Language Hearing Association (ASHA) (or CFY eligible).
- Perform bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, printing, crawling, and running.
- Maintain adequate vision, speech, tactile, and hearing senses suitable for the job.
- Frequent sitting/standing and floor sitting with pediatric patients when appropriate.
