Location:

Williamsville, Buffalo, NY.

Responsibilities
  • Prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in both pediatric and adult patients.
  • Impart knowledge through appropriate Speech‑Language Pathology instruction.
  • Determine type, severity, prognosis, and appropriate instruction and treatment for speech‑language impairments.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and recommend therapeutic interventions for individuals with communication disorders.
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as classroom teachers, other SLPs, OT, PT, audiologists, supervisors, etc.
  • Submit written reports of evaluations, treatment plans, progress, and discharge reports; maintain paperwork within legal and agency guidelines.
  • Make appropriate referrals to support therapeutic outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with families and students.
  • Continue professional development through continuing education programs, in‑service programs, and formal staff training; maintain SLP licensure and TSSLD certification.
  • Supervise CFYs and TSSLDs in compliance with legal guidelines and agency policies.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.
Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree from an accredited speech‑language pathology program.
Required Licenses/Certifications
  • New York State licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist (or CFY eligible).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology issued by the American Speech‑Language Hearing Association (ASHA) (or CFY eligible).
Physical Requirements
  • Perform bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, printing, crawling, and running.
  • Maintain adequate vision, speech, tactile, and hearing senses suitable for the job.
  • Frequent sitting/standing and floor sitting with pediatric patients when appropriate.
