Academic Scholar, Research Assistant Professor – Department of Emergency Medicine
The Department of Emergency Medicine within the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo, seeks a PhD researcher to join faculty. The candidate will identify and pursue sources of ongoing funding for Emergency Medicine.
Responsibilities- Contribute to department’s academic research output by publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at conferences, and engaging in knowledge translation activities. Support faculty and trainees in disseminating impactful research that advances emergency medicine practice.
- Collaborate with faculty, residents, and interdisciplinary teams within and outside the Department of Emergency Medicine. Engage with local EMS community to explore potential research partnerships and advance prehospital care studies.
- Identify and pursue sources of ongoing funding for emergency medicine research, including federal grants, private foundations, and industry partnerships. Develop competitive grant proposals and manage awarded research funds effectively.
- Design, implement, and oversee research studies related to emergency medicine, including clinical trials, observational studies, and data-driven research initiatives. Work closely with faculty and residents to develop and execute high-impact research projects that align with departmental goals.
- PhD in Emergency Medicine, Medicine, Public Health, or related field.
- Strong record of research productivity and grant acquisition.
- Ability to mentor residents and collaborate across disciplines.
