Work Schedule: Days with Call Weekend and Holiday Rotation

Hours: 6:30am to 4:30pm or 6:00am to 4:00pm

Assists the surgeon at the sterile field by providing appropriate sterile instruments and supplies during surgery. Maintains the surgical field through aseptic practices. Works under the supervision of the RN as part of the perioperative team. Assists in patient preparation, circulating duties, case assembly, and collaborates with other departments. Participates in performance improvement initiatives.

• High School graduate
• Completion of a nationally accredited surgical technology program and maintenance of a certified surgical technologist credential OR
• Training in the U.S. military or Public Health Service in surgical technology OR
• Evidence of employment as a surgical technologist for at least one year within the last four years prior to January 1, 2015
• Annual 15 hours of continuing education
• Two years of surgical tech experience in a cardiac OR setting required

If no applicants have two years of cardiac OR experience, consideration will be given to those with:

• High School diploma
• Completion of accredited surgical tech program and certification
• Military or Public Health Service surgical tech training
• One year of healthcare facility employment as a surgical technologist within the last four years
• Annual 15 hours of continuing education
• Three years of OR experience in general

If no applicants meet the above, consideration will be given to those with:

• High School diploma
• Accredited surgical tech program completion and certification
• Military or Public Health Service surgical tech training
• One year of employment as a surgical technologist within the last four years
• Annual 15 hours of continuing education
