GL Accountant and Cost Accountant

Overview

The Senior Cost Accountant oversees cost accounting within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and finance to manage ERP master data, lead new product costing, analyze labor, overhead, and variances, and support margin improvement initiatives. The Senior General Ledger Staff Accountant manages day-to-day accounting operations and leads the month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.

This role maintains the general ledger, prepares journal entries and reconciliations, supports financial statement preparation, and oversees fixed assets, depreciation, and sales tax compliance. Partnering closely with finance leadership, the role also supports ERP initiatives, audit activities, and continuous process improvements to strengthen controls and reporting efficiency.

• Cost accounting in a manufacturing environment focusing on accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting; partner with operations, supply chain, and finance to manage ERP master data, lead new product costing, analyze labor, overhead, and variances, and support margin improvement initiatives.
• Inventory controls, account reconciliations, audit support, and continuous process improvement to drive efficiency, ROI, and informed strategic decision-making.
• General ledger operations, day-to-day accounting, and leadership of the month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of journal entries and reconciliations, support for financial statement preparation, and oversight of fixed assets, depreciation, and sales tax compliance.
• Support ERP initiatives, audit activities, and ongoing process improvements to strengthen controls and reporting efficiency.
