Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly talented Dams Engineering Project Manager to join the East Region Dams Team. This position will support a variety Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region. This position will report to one of the AECOM offices in the East Region including but not limited to Atlanta, Georgia;
Buffalo, New York;
Charlotte, North Carolina;
Conshohocken, Pennsylvania;
Franklin, Tennessee;
Germantown, Maryland;
Latham, New York; or Tampa, Florida.
The successful candidate will join the ENR consistently ranked #1 Dams and Reservoirs firm and have access to exciting career advancement opportunities. The selected individual will perform the roles of a Project Manager such as maintaining client relationships, contracting, project planning and execution, financial management, technical management, change management and project team management including subcontractors.
The expectation for this position is a client facing role with ownership and responsibility for the successful delivery of dam engineering projects and programs including business development and proposal preparation for new and existing clients. The selected individual will provide technical support for projects including analyses, design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, risk assessments, site inspections, construction observation and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of hydraulic structures.
The job responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:
* Build and maintain project schedules for delivering project success including the management of resources, budgets and risk.
* Plan and manage the execution of field investigations for various hydraulic structures and embankments.
* Communicate with multi-disciplinary teams on various projects related to dams and other hydraulic structures.
* Perform quality reviews of other Engineer's work on deliverables such design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings and technical specifications.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
* Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with demonstrated coursework in Geotechnical, Structural or Hydrology and Hydraulics Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
* Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state or successful completion of the Principles of Engineering (PE) exam within the first six months of employment.
* Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
* Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant area of study.
* Ability and desire to occasionally travel to project sites, both local and remote.
* Experience with dams and other hydraulic structures, including rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
* Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
* Ability to complete the Managing AECOM Projects training and receive the AECOM Project Manager certification.
* Experience in relevant software programs such as Microsoft Power BI and Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam and project management information systems (PMIS) such as Procore and e-Builder.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
