SUMMARY: Directs the manufacturing processes in the plant and the office. Plans the layout of all the departments within the organization to provide maximum possible efficiency. Responsible for the improvement of applications and other related technical support by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Investigates trends in technology and keeps facility up to date with new technology.
- Performs layout drafting on AutoCAD.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and layouts.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Monitors the efficient functioning of production processes.
- Responsible for equipment maintenance.
- Develops and submits proposals for management approval.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Performs engineering projects and plant engineering responsibilities as required.
- Coordinates construction on equipment installation activities.
- Devises and adapts tools, work techniques and plant or manufacturing procedures.
- Occasionally covers Maintenance Lead Position, including overseeing & directing maintenance staff & monitoring maintenance WO system.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Position takes work direction from Facility Manager, Production Manager, production supervision from molding, VDM, Extrusion, & Secondary Operations.
- Responsible for complying with the company’s Environmental Policy Manual, applicable work instructions and reporting any environmental nonconformance and/or potential nonconformance to supervision or management.
- Orders spare parts (researches/determines parts & suppliers as necessary).
- May assist in company’s water treatment program (if so special training maybe required).
- Troubleshoots and repairs production equipment as required.
- Other duties may be assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.
A.) from four‑year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
