Technical Engineer IV – Citrix Engineer

CTG is seeking to fill a Technical Engineer IV – Citrix Engineer opening for our client

Location: Buffalo, NY (This role offers a hybrid work schedule; offering the flexibility to work remotely 1 day a week, while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration at our Buffalo, NY Tech Hub.)

Duration: 12 months

This is a high-impact, senior-level engineering opportunity to architect and deliver a next-generation Citrix DaaS platform hosted in Microsoft Azure. You will lead the evaluation of the current VDI environment, design the future-state architecture, and drive full migration and operationalization within a regulated enterprise banking environment.

You will serve as the Citrix subject matter expert, influencing architectural direction, mentoring engineers, and partnering across infrastructure, security, identity, and networking teams.

• Architect and deploy Citrix DaaS in Azure
• Lead migration from legacy/on-prem VDI to a cloud-first model
• Design secure, scalable, resilient VDI architectures
• Implement and optimize Citrix Cloud services
• Develop automation for provisioning, access control, and lifecycle management
• Establish platform health, performance, and user experience metrics using APIs and Power BI
• Mentor engineers and provide architectural oversight
• Ensure compliance with risk, regulatory, and audit requirements

Required:

• 8+ years of infrastructure engineering, systems architecture, or enterprise platform design experience
• Deep hands‑on experience with Citrix VDI technologies
• Proven experience designing enterprise‑scale virtual desktop/application delivery platforms
• Experience leading modernization or migration initiatives
• Strong understanding of infrastructure lifecycle management and IT service practices

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Advanced experience with Citrix DaaS and Citrix Cloud services
• Strong Azure expertise (virtual networking, hybrid connectivity, identity integration, security architecture)
• Experience working in regulated enterprise environments
• Exceptional troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills

This is a senior technical leadership role (no direct reports) with enterprise-wide influence. You will guide engineering standards, review designs, mentor junior engineers, and help shape the long-term VDI strategy.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
