What to Expect

Tesla has an immediate opening for an Engineering Associate Manager to join our Energy Remanufacturing Engineering team. We are seeking a highly motivated, tenacious and team-oriented leader to be responsible for the performance of an Engineering team that owns critical metrics related to manufacturing. The team drives improvements in overall equipment efficiency, availability, and cycle time through documented actions with clearly defined schedules and expected results as well as driving our manufacturing processes to world class execution.

This applicant will not only lead by example, but also performance manage the team where needed to generate the highest value from every employee while maintaining a high level of technical ability.

What You'll Do
  • Establish culture through making daily resource allocation decisions, guiding team members through balancing competing priorities, and serving the needs of the engineering, maintenance, and production groups.
  • Solve problems by building & improving management systems to ensure all equipment operates safely, with high availability & product quality and low cycle time and that our manufacturing processes are robust and demonstrating strong process capability.
  • Lead and assist engineers in resolving unplanned down events and driving permanent RCAs, using the 3D/8D process where applicable.
  • Own headcount and resource planning for projects currently in progress and planned expansion activities.
  • Improve relentlessly to own, report on and drive improvement of area KPIs, including equipment availability, efficiency and cycle time, yield, cost, and capacity.
What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years' experience leading technical teams within automated, high volume manufacturing facilities, including but not limited to electromechanical assembly, robotics, etc.
  • Executive level communication skills, both verbal and written to both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Thorough understanding of product validation processes, production operations, DFM, material movement, and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, dynamically adjusting priorities to meet changing business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills; adept in various problem-solving methodologies.

Expected Compensation
  • Associate Mgr Manufacturing Engineering - $126,720 - $190,080/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
